Online Nursing Classes Degrees:
Assistant Chief Nurse in Selected City Health Departments

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing

• Registered Nurse in the Philippines

• Master Degree in Nursing, Major in Community Health Nursing or

• Master Degree in Public Health/Nursing Administration

• At least five (5) years experience in community health nursing

• Two (2) years of which have been in supervisory position; with demonstrated leadership ability


Functions and Responsibilities

1. Participates with the Chief Nurse in the assessment of nursing needs

2. Participates in planning, organizing and directing the implementation of Community Health Nursing Services

3. Supervises, coordinates and evaluates the performance of the District Nurse Supervisors and assists them in the evaluation of community health nurses

4. Participates in the recruitment and selection of nursing personnel and in the orientation of new community health nurses

5. Analyzes potentials of Nurse Supervisors for professional growth and recommends deserving nurses for study grants

6. Participates in the planning and conduct of staff development programs for nurses

7. Works with professional organizations and other socio-civic groups (GOs and NGOs) to improve nursing services

8. Acts as resource person in seminars and meetings on nursing community development and related matters

9. Participates/conducts studies/researches in community health nursing to improve the service

10. Performs the functions of the Chief Nurse in her/his absence

11. Attends meetings, seminars, workshops on nursing and related fields

12. Performs other functions assigned from time to time.
